The Wayward Reader

Lilian, a thirteen-year-old factory worker in an industrialising town plagued by a serial killer, can see an invisible affliction within other people. When her search for her missing best friend ends with a confrontation with a demon — and learning that the affliction turns humans into demons — another demon named Lucian saves her life and promises answers. Her first clue is that demons are responsible for the many murders. Unfortunately, Lilian’s new lead has problems of his own — Demon Hunters, who claim Lucian is the serial killer and who see Lilian as an accessory.

Can her ability to communicate with these creatures be used to solve the crimes? Or will her connection to the Netherworld prove to be her own undoing…

“I was surprised not once but twice in the last ten percent or so. All in all I felt this was a solid entry for those who enjoy horror-fantasy…”
"Wolberius weaves horror and folklore together creating a creepy journey that feels much like a Grimm brothers’ tale.”

About Me

I started writing text-roleplay and fanfiction in 2008. Since then, I’ve always written my own fiction but never novels. In 2018 I started writing my first novel, an unpublished historical fiction. I now write grimdark gaslamp fantasy and horror primarily. English isn’t my first language, nevertheless I hope you enjoy my work.

My current project, Night Demon, has been captivating me for years. The story has spun around in my imagination since at least 2012, and I’ve decided to make that my debut.
